I found Blitzin to be excellent for the ICC. Most people will probably disagree with me on this one but I like Cclient for FICS. I personally like to hear "check" and when a "draw" is offered. Now, something else to be thrown in here is Rebel-Tiger which offers Internet connectivity. I like the overall interface of Rebel-Tiger better than all the other aforementioned freeware. However, I must tell you that I have replaced the atrocious sounds with RT with wave files that provide the sounds and voices I prefer. Rebel-Tiger gives you this option and it is quite easy to do. I have a voice announcing check, checkmate, and draw offered. I have also replaced the move sound and other sounds as well. Actually, I have combined the sounds of chess.net for windows, Cclient, Blitzin, and Chessmaster for use in Rebel-Tiger. Something you should know is that some of the freeware, Blitzin, and I believe chess.net for Windows does not allow you to delete a saved game - I personally don't like that situation since it uses space on your harddrive. That is one of the reasons I purchased RT for Internet play. I like having one interface for all chess servers. As for the board, Rebel-Tiger wins hands down over the previously mentioned freeware. Also, I like to review a game with the time being displayed as was the case during the game. Regards, Mel
