However, since they are using advanced hardware, we will also have to test computer/computer with something like the hardware they are using to get a really good reference. However, hardware/hardware tests are much easier to arrange than hardware/human. I sometimes say that we don't know if computers are equal to human GM's. May I also add that we don't know if humans are computer GM's! What is the relationship between 2600 ELO on a SSDF list and 2600 ELO on FIDE? Right now, we can't make the connection. Too much missing data. That gap is closing very slowly. We can thank Amir and Ed for that (and also a few new pioneers are joining the effort -- I seem to recall that Shredder is playing in the Israel Chess tournaments as well).
