Hello Rich,

I personally like the Slav defense, and do not think it is as risky as the
Indian defenses. I also believe the Slav is easier to play with less material to
master than the Indian defenses - that's why I consider it less
risky.:-)However, whatever you decide, eventually you will have to widen your
repertoire to d4. As for winning chances, I think no matter what you play, if
you play it well enough you will have winning chances.
