Subject: Which chess program is the best for analyzing different opening lines?

I currently have Chessmaster 6000 and I am not completely happy with it. I
would like a chess program that I could use to set up a position and I could
then watch the computer play itself. It would be nice if I could then review
the game one step at a time. It would also be helpful if a program could give
subvariations it feels are relevant at any juncture. I am trying to improve my
opening play after setting up a position that would occur at say, move 6. I
would like to be able to set up different positions that occur early in the
Dragon for instance and would like to see different lines played out. If
someone could help me choose the right software that would be excellent.
