The typical win in that ending involves a lot of maneuvering with king and
knights, then release of the pawn as the blockading knight hops off to deliver
mate.  So in many of these cases I suspect that the shortest path does involve a
quick blockade, a long maneuver period, then release of the pawn.  It may be
possible to break the maneuver phase into two sub-phases with a forced pawn push
in between, but I expect that this wouldn't be very common.

So I think that this case is probably a good one to consider.
