Strictly speaking i think that the following was the first game won by a computer against an IM, but in 1977 Edward Lasker was 92 years old and no longer a very serious active player and the game was in a simultaneous exhibition by the computer.It is said also that Lasker was the first IM in 1960 to play and defeat a computer but i found no trace of this game. Chess 4.5 - Lasker IM,E [C63] New York simul exh by computer, 29.03.1977 1.e4 e5 2.Nf3 Nc6 3.Bb5 f5 4.Nc3 Nd4 5.exf5 Nf6 6.Nxd4 exd4 7.Ne2 c6 8.Bc4 d5 9.Bd3 Bd6 10.Nxd4 0–0 11.0–0 c5 12.Ne6 Bxe6 13.fxe6 c4 14.Bf5 g6 15.Bh3 Ne4 16.d3 Nxf2 17.Rxf2 Qb6 18.d4 Bxh2+ 19.Kf1 Rxf2+ 20.Kxf2 Rf8+ 21.Ke2 c3 22.bxc3 Qc7 23.Ba3 Rf4 24.Qd3 Re4+ 25.Kd1 Bg3 26.Qf3 Re1+ 27.Kd2 Qb8 28.Qf7+ Kh8 29.Bf8 Qf4+ 30.Qxf4 1–0 The next one is more serious since it came from the match between Chess 4.7 and David Levy in 1978 in Toronto.This is certainly the first one in tournament like condition.
