Shredder4; bm b5;
I wanted to try this diagram thing too :-) . This position is out of a recent
75/10 where
Shredder played the fascinating 23...b5 which not only holds ( after 23...ba 24.
c5 seems to win )
but in fact lead to a fast win . b5 is like a miracle to ordinary human eyes but
maybe this
is easy for computers ; haven't tried it yet .
The game was one of the most fascinating computerprogram games I have seen so
far and is highly
typical for Shredder's style . If it were a human GM as black we would say : he
already
figured that out when he played 22. ... Ba8 which then really would be an even
more admirable
effort for a computer program ;=) .
Two other appealing moves in this game are 26. ... Bf8 and the final little 38.
... g6
where frustrated goliath resigned ... ; decisive mistake from white maybe 25.
Nc4 but the
weaknesses on the c-file and on the long diagonal are already uncomfortable.
Have fun ; and the obvious : "What does your program/mind think ? "
