The question is not if this is an easy win but if there is a practical chance
that crafty is going to go wrong to a drawn KRPP vs KR.

This line is not forced and you cannot be sure in a game that crafty is going to
find the right moves.

It seems to me that crafty could win the game but I still think that the
decision to resign was too early

It is too early to resign if there are doubts about the final result
