i don't know. maybe he is depressed how less you can change by doing something
fair. and how much you get by doing something unfair.

hm. i am no friend of "agreements". many people call me an anarchist therefore.
or communist. or terrorist :-).
for me people are more important than ideas.
when i see an idea hurts somebody much, i consider about it and maybe
change it.
ideas are not over human beeings. no idealism should try to be.
if you have a problem with him, why don't you ask him about ?

>Did you perceive my post (above) as an attack against Chris?

no. the attack is that he is banned.
hitler was banned from society in/after ww1. he took revenge.
napoleon. stalin. they were all not very integrated children in their
youth. the group has thrown them out. they were "banned".
they all took revenge.
society should not separate people. it should try to integrate.

>I have asked him. He has blown me off.

try again. it needs always the right moment. people need time
to find moments. when you are under attack, you cannot be
nice to others. when you are relaxed, and you have slept over
it, you can be more graceful.

hm.
i think chris does not want to post here.
when wolf biermann ( a political song writer of eastern germany)
critisized the DDR, they threw him out. that was wrong. he critisized
to change the society for making it better, not for making it worse.
by throwing him out they took the chance that society gets better.
because they ban him.
this forum should not ban him, he is pro computerchess, not against it.

but the group helps the people.
of course if the group has no good words to the 2 fighters. others
than saying: you are right, he IS an asshole, than the situation will not
change.
i always thought the best therapy is the group.
take them all together and make a party, don't forget to invite your enemy.

>In some ways, I think we agree more than we disagree.

of course. we are in one group. therefore we have something in common.
and it is the same with you and chris.
therefore it is wrong to ban him.
