The 2 main reasons he did it IMO:

1) his program has always been designed to do the best on slow CPUs, or at fast
time controls.

2) his dedicated computers programs are written in 68000 assembly code, and the
Palm uses a 68000-compatible processor (DragonBall and DragonBall-EZ by
Motorola). So the port was probably not very difficult.
