A reason may be the strange book behaviour of Tal. I started a match Tal-MCP, but when I saw them play 5-6 times the same opening line I decided to change the opponent. But again Tal with black chose one line for 3 or 4 times. Of course Tal always lost in this line although changed the moves when out of book. But Tal should have turned into another line. First I had Tals book set on strength, afterwards (after Tal playing only 1.c4) changed to popular but obviously didn't work well either. However, the book learn files are present in the directory. I have no idea what went wrong, but as I wrote, a 9.5-0.5 with white in favour of Shredder is even too high for me...I'd expect a 5-5 or close win but not that.
