Yes! he is.
It's my favorite place to meet people before a dinner of a movie. It's not a
problem if your buddy is late!
Unfortunatly I don't use it a lot now since I'm living close to New-York...

For the people planning to visit Paris, its a very nice place to stop in the
Saint Michel/Saint Germain area to play some chess programs and machines.

Variantes, 29 rue Saint-Andre-des-arts  Metro: St Michel

There is a second chess shop where you can play in the area of Opera:
Le Damier de l'Opera, 7 rue La Fayette, Metro: Chaussee d'Antin
