Subject: Chessbase Programs are Great, but there's one Big Goof.

Hiarcs 7.32 is fabulous. I just got Junior 6 and I have Fritz 6. I'm still
working with Junior 6, but I like what I see so far. However, Chessbase goofed
BIG TIME with they eliminated to option to turn off the permanent brain in Fritz
6 and Junior 6.

One effective way to handicap for strong players is to set a fixed time
level with just a few seconds. When doing this you want the permanent brain
turned off so as to have consistent play from move to move. This is doable in
H7.32 but not F6 or J6. Some will say that we should just use the Handicap and
Fun level for this purpose. However, I have found that in the Handicap and Fun
level these programs make too many non-positional moves even on high levels
which is my reason for going with the fixed time levels.

So what am I doing, I'm running Junior 6 in Hiarcs 7.32 UI. What was going
through the minds of the Chessbase programsers when they eliminated the
permanent brain turn-off feature?
