Oh, here, let me put a plug in for my webpage

It won't teach you anything, but it has allot of links to webpages that will
teach you allot, see James Swafford's webpage (he also just posted it below) is
listed there, I'd recommend that for a first stop.  See the links in CCC's
resource center (see top of forum page for link)

I also have several links to locations of Chess programs with the source code
available (oh my God, I just realized that there's at least 3 new ones that I
need to add, sorry).

Your life will be much easier (my opinion) if you addopt the C programming
language, because most of the source code available to you will be in C.  C's
cool.
