No,knowledge sometimes does not reduce program's ability to look deep because
knowledge include also knowledge which lines to search.

If the decision which lines to search is based also on evaluation(it is not just
a theoretical issue) then the slow searcher can be better in tactics than the
fast searcher.

For example a null move program with no knowledge can decide to prune an
important line because it believes that there is no threat when the same program
with a better evaluation can decide not to prune the relevant line because it
understands that there is a threat so it can see the tactics earlier.
