They had two choices: 1) To postpone the second game which would have been to the advantage of the machine. 2) To declare the match lost by DJ by forfeit which is to the advantage of Adams. I think too, that in this situation no 2 was the only possibility. Mig writes: "The forfeit was by no means the fault of Deep Junior, its operators, or the KasparovChess.com software, and to our knowledge all of the above performed quite well. [...]" "They, particularly the Junior team, have good reason to be outraged at their misfortune at the hands of fate and our disregard for proper protocol.
