Your reasoning is flawed, and you have selective memory.

Kasparov has every reason to fear Deep Junior. Kasparov has lost before to a
computer chess program in a very simular knock out match which was much weaker,
ChessGenius running on I think a P 120 computer. Deep Junior was must likely the
strongest player in this tounament at this time control. It is an outrage that
Deep Junior was forced out of this tournament after beating GM Adams in the
first game, thus giving GM Adams almost zero chance of winning this match
because the tie breaker was game in 5 mins where Deep Junior would have crushed
Adams with ease.

I don't know who pulled what strings, but as I said in the Kasparov chat room as
this outrage went down, "They are going to give Adams this match". It was clear
to me someone did not want Deep Junior to win this tournament by any means!

If this match was Adams-Kasparov and the same thing happend to Kasaprov that
happend to Deep Junior would Kasparov have been forced out of the
tournament......NO!!!

In my eyes and I would hope many others, the first KC online tournament has
proven itself to be a shame.
