You raise a good point. If humans, for whatever reason, are not available
when their game is to be played, they are forfeited. Obviously, that doesn't
happen much. But with computers, it can happen quite a bit. And it is not
fair, with big money (or even little money) on the line, for Grandmaster A to
get an easy point by forfeit, while Grandmaster B has to fight the monster.
Consequently, unless there is a way to ensure that the "crash" problem will be
minimal, I sympathize with those professional players who want computers out of
their tournaments.
