Hello, CCC friends: As a result of the forfeit disaster in the KasparovChess Grand Prix, Michael Adams has been called some bad things here at the CCC: "a coward" (post 97669); "a jerk" (post 97673); "the coward" (post 97689); "despicable and cowardly" (post 97721); and many other bad things. This language always seemed out of place here, even before the accusations were contradicted by the very man responsible for the forfeit, Mig (Michael Greengard). Just as Amir and Shay have been treated unjustly, so has Michael Adams been treated unjustly by very premature and very exaggerated accusations. Am I being too naive to expect a high standard of proof from chess players and computer fans? Am I being too naive to expect a high standard of language in a moderated forum whose charter requires that messages: "2. Are not abusive in nature 3. Do not contain personal and/or libelous attacks on others " ? Moderators: although I have mentioned post numbers, it is not my intention to complain about specific messages; I am merely giving examples to express my general concern to the whole membership. Sorry if I have ruffled any feathers. It was just something I had to say. Respectfully, Mark
