The Travel Champion was great, but its successor, Travel Champion 2100, is my
favorite dedicated computer. It's strong, fully featured and beautiful. Where
is the successor to 2100? Is the Cosmos better, about the same, or not as good?

While I'm on the subject, what is the state of the dedicated market today? I
personally haven't bought a new machine since the Travel Champion 2100. In
browsing through the holiday catalog in Chess Life, I saw no CRA rating claims
except for the oldest models, which earned their ratings years ago. The ICD
catalog shows no new models in the high-end, at least, none that I've noticed.

Have we reached the end of the line as far as dedicated machines go? Will the
R30 be remembered as the penultimate dedicated unit for all time? Are the
Atlanta and Diamond II going to remain state-of-the-art indefinitely? Will the
TC 2100 and Sapphire II be remembered as the strongest portables ever produced?

Robert
