For me (on a Macintosh) if I just want to view a game without archiving it, my preferences are (1) copy moves or pgn and paste into Exachess, (2) save pgn and open in Exachess, (3) view moves using HTML (I remember for instance the Komputer Korner cups did a decent job of setting it up to use straight HTML), with my least favorite option being (4) fire up Internet Explorer and view in Java (my usual browser is Netscape but its Java implementation is still really horrible). Basically, I prefer an interface I'm used to rather than someone else's new Java interface, I like the convenience of cut-and-paste, and I like the fact that Exachess lets me try making other moves to see what would have happened, call various chess engines to analyze, etc. But if it's possible to have both pgn and a java viewer, why not...
