He probably meant that you had crafty logged on using winboard.  If you do,
do _not_ observe a game with that winboard, as it will start crafty which will
kibitz "hello from crafty v17.9".

If you want to observe a game, log on using your own account and don't use a
winboard with the -zp option set...
