I can understand where the GM was coming from when he referred
to the 'character of chess'. Chess is a game of oversights, and
human failings, and the striving to avoid them. Also, there's the
ego crushing factor, which does'nt apply when we compete with a set
of instructions that someone wrote somewhere, sometime.
Humans and computers can coexist ok, but we have to be considerate
towards the needs of strong human players, and the reason they took
up chess in the first place.
