[snip] >I do not believe that KQQKQP could help the world against kasparov. >These positions are rare and the world needed KQP vs KQP > I know KQPKQP will be much better but I still think KQQKQP will help a lot. KQQKQP is difficult to generate and KQPKQP even more. I will be already happy If Eugene does KQQKQP [snip] >I also do not understand the reason that Eugene release these tablebases as free. Probably he's not as greedy as others are. Or he's not interested in the money at all. I think it's good to publish somethings software for free. Look at linux, crafty, and all the others. >I know that other people earn money from selling CD roms with part of these >tablebases. This is a shame! >I think he can tell the people who sell the tablebases that they need to pay him This sounds ok. Since Eugene+Edwards+Thompson generated the bases. >part of the money they get if they want to sell the tablebases and not to >release them for everyone. I think the tablebases is something everyone could generate if they have enough computer power. I also think that the current algorithm to generate tablebases can be speedup up by replacing it by a faster algorithm. Eugene does not do this because his current version still works. By the way, I think there's only a very small number of people who fully understands how egtb.cpp work? [snip] Kind regards, Michel Langeveld (rudolf@stad.dsl.nl)
