I use "Ram Stress Test", a software program which IMHO is the best one to test
RAM.  It detects memories problems which other memory test program fails to
find. You should get this program if you suspect that it is a memory problem.
From the description of the problem above, it seems to me that is a bad memory
installed in your system. I had experienced similar problems which you described
above, and when I ran the "Ram Stress Test", it detected one bad bit in the
Address line of the RAM. Since I exchange the memory, I never had any problems
since. Try it.
