It is clear that everyone involved is feeling very uncomfortable with the situation, and as we can't deny that all kind of rumours and accusations have been going around, everyone involved also wants to give his opinion. Even more clear is that these were typical starting failures of a tournament organization in a totally new way. Although there might be a lot of criticism on Michael Greengard, he has taken all the blame as responsible for things not going smooth. Even better, he has asked suggestions for improvement. That's the way to improve. Michael Adams points out that he respects Mig for taking the blame. In my opinion only the statement that it's a shame the Deep Junior team couldn't handle things correctly is maybe a bit harsh, as clearly problems originated from an organisation with a flaw. I can understand his angriness however. Maybe it can't be done with startup problems in today's superprofessional world, but I liked the tournament idea very much, and I think Club Kasparov did well to try this out and develop this idea further, as a valuable addition to "normal" tournaments. Flaws and hiccups are annoying, and they especially were a personal drama to Adams as well as the DJ-team in this case; my hope is that this experience will turn out valuable for a follow up without flaws. With Deep Junior and with Micky Adams. There is the place for the real shootout. It's good to evaluate and get better, mere flaggelation it is plain bad as well as calling names, how human and understandible it may be. Jeroen ;-}
