Hi Dann, Dr Hyatt, et al., :) That post is a fine endorsement of Crafty. It has aroused my interest. We've got Crafty 17.04 in our Hiarcs7.32, and although I've played several "friendly" games against it (about 0-0-50), I have more-or-less disregarded it in favour of H732, F5, RebelCent, Tigger, when I play seriously or do major analysis. I think the cause is the mental block over it being free. Maybe I should show it some more respect & use it more as an analysis tool. Therefore a coupla questions please: (from anyone who wants to offer their opinion thanks) What is the "best" Crafty version currently available for download for the F5.32 interface? How well does Crafty "stack up" against the best commercials in say 1 hour analysis of a position? (on a PII 400) (I've thought it didn't, because I thought it wasn't selective-searching enough, I also thought it wasn't using hash -I'm more than happy to be told I'm wrong). Thanks guys Tina Long
