Hi!

Be2 isn't the best move in the position. I've let Fritz crunch
numbers for some 3 hours and this is what it came up with:

r1r3k1/pp2qppp/4pn2/n2p2B1/3P2N1/2P1P2P/P4PP1/1BRQ1bK1 b - - 0 1

Analysis by Fritz 6:

1. -+ (-2.84): 1...Ba6 2.e4 dxe4 3.Bxe4 Kf8 4.Bxh7 Qd8 5.Bb1 Nc4 6.Qf3
2. -+ (-2.75): 1...Bb5 2.Nxf6+ gxf6 3.Qc2 Kf8 4.Qxh7 Ke8 5.Qh8+ Kd7 6.Qxf6
3. -+ (-2.75): 1...Bc4 2.Qc2 Kf8 3.Nxf6 gxf6 4.Qxh7 Ke8 5.Qh8+ Qf8 6.Qxf8+
4. -+ (-2.72): 1...Qa3 2.Nxf6+ gxf6 3.Bxf6 Bc4 4.Bxh7+ Kf8 5.Rc2 Ke8 6.Qg4
5. -+ (-2.19): 1...Be2 2.Qxe2 Qa3 3.Qe1 Nxg4 4.hxg4 Nc4 5.Qd1

My suspicion was aroused when I saw the point Qa3, and wondered: why not
immediately. As the output shows Qa3 is also winning, as well as any bishop
retreat except for Bd3. Since this is a tactical sacrifice from blacks side
I'm positive Fritz has found the correct approach. The conclusion is: The
sacrifice was losing.

Have a nice day!
