These processors are kind of pathetic when it comes to 3D gaming. The Athlon is a different story. It has an FPU that's so much better than Intel's, it's not even funny. It trounces any Pentium on every concievable benchmark. The Athlon is currently the chip of choice for professional (and enthusiast) gamers. And if you want to talk about "rendering," we could discuss raytracing. The Athlon is maybe 50% faster than an equivalently clocked Coppermine at raytracing. So if your Athlon is sluggish, I suggest you look elsewhere for the cause. -Tom
