This could be, but AMD has NEVER been able to compete with Intel when it comes to gaming. The AMD processor just simply can not supply the raw processor power it takes to run these games. Half-Life is a great example as there is SO much detail, as would be BattleZone II. These games are hi-definition games, where even the PIII slows to a grind after quite a deal of time playing. I know there is nothing wrong with drivers, as both perform great outside of the gaming, and the AMD has the better video card, I took the AMD to a computer center last night, because maybe you were right that there was something wrong. But as I suspected, the AMD system matched perfectly with the benchmark scores from WorldBench 98 ( PC Magazine ). So thus it would still be my conclusion that the AMD is great for performance in some areas, but surely will never out perform an Intel processor when dealing with high scale rendering.
