Will,
Although the protocol can be standard, the interapplication communication
on unix/windows uses io redirection to read and write to stdin and stdout
which is not available on MacOS -- Mac Hosted Linux may be different.

The may issue of MacTech is to have a free demo copy of SuSE Linux for PowerPC
which may be a viable way to get Winboard on MacOS.

Otherwise, a similar protocol using apple events could be construced.

Do you have anything in mind?

Or are you talking about using ICS as a go-between and using ICS protocol.
(they may be the same thing, if so pardon my ignorance.)
