Yes, but I doubt that this will include tournament play. A single game now and
then is uninteresting, unless you're consumed by a passion for computer chess.

This makes it even more confusing, special and uninteresting IMO.

Then they'll have to extend the timecontrols to allow the player some time to
search through his books. I think this is a stupid idea.

No, that's true, but we're talking about the present _and_ the future.

No, I'm quite sure that I'm not the only one, but I don't mind being special if
that would be the case.

Making a program learn from its mistakes is also tutoring. Teaching: to cause to
learn by example or _experience_.

No problem, if the concept is put into system, then there's nothing wrong with
exchanging information as long as it comes from actual computer play.
