Actually, in real life the 2500 players will win 1/4 of the points from 2700
players or they would not be rated at 2500.  However, it might come in the form
of draws with the 2500 player as white which is not so exciting, I will admit.

Probably so.  My ideas of what is interesting fail to jibe with the population
at large most of the time.
