I have the greatest admiration for grandmasters, but I'm not arrogant enough,
believe it or not, to assume that I'm capable of understanding the full
implications of the moves played. The time used watching grandmaster games is
better used reading books about certain aspects concerning the game of chess.
The money you save could be used on books instead. There's plenty of games
available for analysis, if that's what you want. Watching a game won't add
anything special IMO. The major events sounds interesting though, provided that
the explanations are lucid and thorough enough.
