I didn't think he was being sarcastic, I thought it was consistent with what Chris has been about for a while. I think he would have argued at one point that there was a group of people firmly in control of this place, who were stifling free expression of creative viewpoints. I don't think he'd argue that there are particular people doing it now, but he might argue that there is a group culture thing that serves the same purpose. If there's some means of defending the battered minority, they might be able to express themselves more freely. The battered minority might be better able to defend itself if it can be shown that there is a silent majority that wants to hear from the battered minority. I don't think that things are nearly this dis-utopian. I think that this community has a few problems but it's generally functional. It is not a flowering garden of creativity, but anyone who wants to fix that can take it upon themselves to help do it. bruce
