As a clarification: during the tenure of the current moderation crew, Chris Whittington was not suspended indefinitely (colloquially: "banned") at any point until just days ago, after he publicly posted his login id and password. Indeed, the moderation crew attempted to contact him directly, via his software company, Oxford Softworks, and via Thorsten Czub to indicate this to him some months ago. He did not directly reply to us at that time. I would guess that the message reached him one way or another, but don't know for sure. In any case, he signed on recently, and wasn't booted immediately, so he must have realised that he had been welcome at some point. I did think that the "bean counting" post reading suggestion was quite an amusing piece of sarcasm. Indeed, it was spoiled only by the fact that not everybody understood that Chris had his tongue firmly implanted in his cheek when he made the suggestion. Presumably this is because those people weren't around back when Chris ridiculed certain computer chess algorithms as mere "bean counting". Ah well, you can't win them all. Hopefully we can get back to computer chess now... Dave
