I disagree.
computers play always the move that they evaluate as best.

Sometimes they fail in defence if they do not see Deep enough.
Junior failed in defence in the games that it lost.

I disagree attack does not start earlier.
Attack and defence are the two sides of the same coin.

Sometimes you need to do a defensive move against a future attack that the
opponent did not begin and in this case the defence start one ply earlier.
