I think Rebel9 is stronger. Of course it can always happen that a program A is the fear opponent of program B. I have sent Ed mail that Rebel8 has more problems to beat Fritz4 and Nimzo3.5 than other programs. This PROBLEM is still in the program, still in Rebel9. Ed told me, he has not recognized this in his test-games. Maybe he has overseen it ? From my point of view it is understandable. Rebel9 seems to come deep and prunes much from my point of view. Fritz5 comes deeper and also Nimzo3.5. If the pruning of Rebel9 is not accurate enough, Fritz5 and Nimzo3.5 can outsearch Rebel9. Although I believe that Rebel9 has weaker results against Fritz5 and Nimzo98, I don't think it loses that much, Moritz claims. It is difficult to say. Since we have no autoplayer for Fritz5, it will be difficult to find out. Moritz seem to have one. ChessBase too. If Fritz5 is so good, why don't they sell it with autoplayer ? :-)
