The reason why I think the "Chessbase book learner" is more effective in Comp-Comp games on SSDF is that it tries to repeat won games which the "Crafty book learner" doesn't . In general I like the Crafty book-learner better as you can't spoil the book totally with a few blitz games compaired to standard games although I think in comp-comp games you have narrowed down possible openings too much to enjoy its play and making it easier to search for specific holes .
