Did you say that the idea took the program to No 1?.

But seriously ask Chessmaster, they were not No 1 and had/have the best selling
programs. OK they were No 1 at one point with CM6K but I doubt seriously whether
that made an impact on their total volume.

It is important to be No 1 if that is to be used within your marketing
strategy, yet in my opinion having a program at No 2 will not cause a loss
of that many sales. The people that buy the SSDF list leader own typically
like most of us many more than one program.

Selling software IMO is the same as selling other products and the whole
sales and marketing concept...plan...is what sells.
