You're right.  I discovered only after I posted that the best defense is in fact
Kxa3, but when I ran it on Crafty it saw the mate instantly in that line, and so
it wanted to play other moves and wasn't probing the TBs that deep in those
searches to see that it was mated sooner.  So I was going down other lines
looking for the longest defense, but I neglected the first move. :)
