There are currently several large corporations that have disk arrays capable of holding one of the pawnless 8 piece endgame tables, so I expect that they will eventually be practical to build.. but not soon. Which leaves open the question of which 8 piece table to build first, assuming that you can get IBM or Sun to sponsor your project :) KRNB vs KRRB ? Angrim
