See my other post but you'll see that since it's not optimized for speed i.e. few c orientated 'tricks' it is easier to make a literal translation into Delphi. Of course one cannot make a definitive statement as to how Delphi compares to VC but at least one can say that it's 'in the ball park'. I'd have been most concerned if the literal Delphi version ran at 50% of the speed of the VC version. Regards, Steve Maughan
