I suspect that this is merely an attempt by the Fritz guys to prevent
massive book-cooking.  IE you can cook against Fritz, but only by
playing
manual games.  Rather than by buying a half-dozen machines and letting
them play 24 hours a day automatically.

It would be easy to catch cheating, just download a couple of the games
fritz played for the SSDF folks and play those games on your own version
of fritz 5 to see if it agrees.
