Like a lot of other engines present at Paderborn, Gandalf is essentially an
amateur program in the sense that it's a spare time project. Removing the GUI
development saves time.

So am I. The last round opponent, Gromit, seems like a tough cookie. They're
very similar in development and both have great potential IMO.
