Hi Fernando, good to hear from you...

Well yes, I was considering that this is the type of organizer that
lives to create chess shows; The blindfold, the blitz, the young strong
women player's against old men! This guy Rentero is (to me), like the
Barnam & Baily circus promoter - he will make almost anythng for the
promotion of his circus.

As for the chess players', None of them (except Kasparov, Kramnik ((and
maybe Anand)), in my opinion have ever had any other motive about what
kind of tournament to play in, if the money was right! They don't
really care about the future of chess, or who the REAL WORLD CHAMPION
is, or should be, they just want the money. I'd probably 'sell out'
too, like this, If I was a top chess player and my life playing chess
tournaments was based on every little expense. As Kirsan's FIDE has
proved, It takes a very rare, (or incredibly successful), or just plain
BIG NUT,(Like Bobby Fischer), to stand up and be counted, and say - NO,
I will not play just because your offering me lot of money! - That's a
rare chess grandmaster. (O.K., I think Hubner should be included,
because he refuses to play computers under any circumstances, but not
Ivanchuk (candidate NUT), because he (has)played in tournaments
sponsored by computer companies, and then refuses to play the computer,
and then (worse), who could forget this, complains about the sponsoring
organzation having the computer's in the event!!

No wonder chess has a harder time becoming 'legitamint', then something
as boring! (to me), as Golf!
