I know of one Australian chess software program,
and one from New Zealand (both on Macintosh)

Australia: ExaChess

This is a chess database program by Rolf Exner.
There's a fairly nice Web page for ExaChess:

New Zealand: RChess

A freeware chess-playing program by Robert Purves.
