7.0 was no good.  6.2 worked perfectly as does (so far) 7.1...  I have had
raw beginners install it perfectly with no outside help...  They generally
call with other types of questions, just like the normal windows users.

But installation for 7.1 is easier than for windows 2000 or windows ME.  I
had to reinstall ME on my notebook after it crashed and burned, and it was not
easy, including about 10 reboots...

Again, try 7.1...  a cold boot from the CD had sound working on my new Sony
notebook, a machine on the market for a month prior to the install.  Sound,
X, everything works perfectly...  right out of the box.

I'll take that bet with win2000 or winme, compared to RH7.1
