I know the numbers off by heart!

My first decent chess computer (I'd only had a fidelity pocket
challenger before).

It's still got the nicest board in my collection of chess computers.

I bought it 10 years ago. My mom bought me a briefcase from a jumble
sale which fits it perfectly, and has a pocket in which the batteries
fit.

It has an 8Mhz clock, which was tremendous in its day!

The instruction manual contained a circuit diagram. It was all done by a
single chip.

Level 0: 0.5 s
1: 2s
2: 5s
3: 15s
4: 30s
5: 1m
6: 2m
7: 3m
8: 6m

It also had special levels a to h. I'll have to look these up tonight.

It is important to realise that the system would often take over 3x its
allocated time, which made it impossible to play at long time controls.

Level 0 is called, "Beginner's handicap level", but it is much too
strong for a beginner.
