I couldn't find the answer on Tom's hardware >page. http://sysdoc.pair.com Tom is a bit slow sometimes, but very reliable. This information *is* on his site, somewhere... hunt around. For slot 1, just call it "Pentium II". For slot 2, call it "Pentium II - Deschutes" This *definitely* has L2 cache upto 2Mb and operating at 100% CPU speed i.e. say 450MHz (there may first come a 400MHz Deschutes) - and maybe (conflicting reports) 32K+32K L1 cache (same as K6). Of course, importance of L1 cache diminishes with full speed L2 cache! Note the 3 Deschutes 450MHz CPUs (512K/1Mb/2Mb of L2) are intended for servers - cost may be several times cost of ordinary Pentium II... But then chess performance.... Keep up the good work. Kind regards fca PS: Also, Kryotech may give bigger advantages %-wise on a Deschutes than on a standard Pentium II of same clock speed, as heat may be more of a limiting factor with the faster L2 cache.... PPS: I bet you that Deschutes 450MHz is faster than K6 300MHz on Rebel 98.3... :-)
